In Memory of Mary Anne Moffa
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us to mourn the passing of Mary Anne Moffa on the morning of May 1, 2023. Mary Anne was the heart and soul of the Peggy Browning Fund for over two decades. She worked tirelessly on behalf of the next generation of labor law advocates, and for many others over the scope of her long career in service. Mary Anne's obituary and memorial information can be found here.
When the Peggy Browning Fund was in its earliest days, our Founder Joseph Lurie found a kindred spirit in Mary Anne. She understood his unique vision and brought her incredible energy and talent into making PBF the nationally recognized, high-quality organization it is today. Joseph frequently regarded Mary Anne as his ‘personal hero’ for her ability to turn vision into reality through hard work and a committed heart.
Mary Anne loved the Peggy Browning Fund and gave her full self to its mission, but more than anything, she adored the people. It was impossible to be around her and not feel inspired. She was a light that brought so many passionate students into the labor movement, drew in mentor organizations from coast to coast, formed relationships with nearly every law school in the country, and so much more. The Peggy Browning Fund grew tenfold under her careful leadership. The current PBF staff and Board stand on the shoulders of giants. In Mary Anne’s honor, we will uphold her legacy through our shared commitment to the vision, values and mission of the Peggy Browning Fund.
