New York Awards Reception Most Successful To Date!
Monday, April 22nd, 2013
The 2013 New York Awards Reception raised more funds in support of Peggy Browning Fellowships than any event in our history!
The Peggy Browning Awards Reception in New York City was held on April 8 in the auditorium of SEIU 32BJ. Recognizing the works of Héctor Figueroa, President, SEIU 32BJ, Susan Davis, Esq. of Cohen, Weiss & Simon LLP and Richard Adelman, Esq., arbitrator and mediator, this reception raised the most funds to date to educate lawyers to become workers' rights advocates.
Peggy Browning Alumni and 2013 Summer Fellows were in attendance and had the opportunity to network with many attending labor leaders including Mary Kay Henry, President, SEIU and Lynn Rhinehart, Esq., General Counsel for the AFL-CIO and new Peggy Browning Board member. Wendy LaManque, 2012 Peggy Browning Fellow at CWA District One spoke of her summer fellowship experience.
Congratulations to the awardees and Host Committee for their tremendous efforts to raise funds in support of this year's summer fellows!
