Berger-Marks Foundation Provides Grant For Women
Thursday, May 16th, 2013
The Peggy Browning Fund has received a grant from the Berger-Marks Foundation to fund a new PBF Summer Fellowship this year!
Dedicated to organizing women into unions, the Berger-Marks Foundation has agreed to support one of this year's 71 Summer Fellowships. With the mission of bringing women the benefits of union organization, the Berger-Marks Foundation honors the memory of Edna Berger, pioneer organizer for The Newspaper Guild, and her husband, Gerald Marks, the noted Tin Pan Alley composer. Royalites from his songs have been used to carry on the couple's commitment to workers' rights. Our new fellowship at SEIU United Long Term Care Workers in Los Angeles was awarded to Cameron Bell, a first-year student at Loyola Law School. To learn more about Cameron and all our 2013 Summer Fellows, go to the Fellows Brochure.
We are proud recipients of a grant from the Berger-Marks Foundation.
