Alumni Association Launches Second Chapter in Chicago!
Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016
Alumni from the Chicago-area met in April to establish the Chicago Chapter of the PBF Alumni Association. This is the second PBF Alumni Chapter established to date. The first was started in New York City earlier this year.
Each chapter will focus on 3 areas:
- Building a network of attorneys across the Chicago region to act as a legal community where alumni can share information and respond to questions on current labor and employment law topics;
- Coordinating social events for professional development, such as lectures and workshops, and sharing information on area events that advance the rights of working people;
- Connecting alumni with each new class of Peggy Browning Fellows through participation in Fellow Orientations, Nat’l Conference Workshops, Regional Workshop Panels and at Alumni Association gatherings.
The Chicago Chapter has organized several events already including hosting a get-together for PBF alumni from across the country after the LCC Conference on May 13. The chapter also organized an orientation for the 2016 PBF Fellows in Chicago on June 2. Martin Klein, PBF'12, Sarah Arendt, PBF'11 and Dan Kruehnert, PBF'07 are the alumni co-coordinators for the chapter and look forward to organizing more social and professional development events in 2016.
