IUE-CWA, the Industrial Division of the Communications Workers of America, is currently seeking a staff counsel.

The staff counsel works directly with service staff and local officers, under the supervision of the General Counsel, in all traditional labor and employment areas (NLRA, LMRDA, FMLA, etc.). There is considerable grievance analysis and arbitration work. In addition there can be assistance directly in collective bargaining and organizing. Demonstrated experience with unions, including collective bargaining, arbitration, organizing or other forms of mobilization will be an extremely valuable consideration in a candidate for this position. Experience with the manufacturing sector is an additional plus.

This position requires a law degree. Staff counsel do not work remotely and are required to live in Dayton Ohio, where the IUE-CWA Headquarters is located. Some travel is required. Staff counsel are members of a bargaining unit, with compensation and benefits set by the terms of the staff union contract. IUE-CWA is committed to diversity in all hiring.
