About the Peggy Browning Fund

The Peggy Browning Fund (PBF) is a nonprofit organization established in memory of Margaret A. Browning, a prominent labor attorney who served as a member of the National Labor Relations Board. Its mission is to educate and inspire the next generation of law students to become advocates for workplace justice.

Through summer fellowships, an annual National Law Students Workers' Rights Conference, and networking opportunities, PBF provides diverse, challenging work and educational experiences in the area of workers' rights. Its goal is to increase students' understanding of the current issues facing workers, as well as promote students' entry into the practice of public interest labor law.

Currently, over 155 law schools participate in PBF’s programs. From 1998 to 2020, PBF awarded over 1,100 fellowships across the country. Over 3,400 students have attended its annual conferences, nearly 2,200 have attended its regional workshops at participating law schools, and many have procured summer positions or longer-term employment through PBF-provided networking opportunities.
